Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Black women in the US. Breast cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death among women.1

Black women in the U.S. are about 40% more likely to die from breast cancer than white women.1

We created Sister Give Me Your Hand to create better breast cancer outcomes for Black Women. We work with community partners to raise awareness and education about issues that affect breast cancer and Black women. We also work with mobile mammography vans, offer weekend and evening hours to make screening more accessible.

Additionally, SGMYH works with health care providers to increase awareness and education of issues that impact Black women and breast cancer. Our primary goal is to improve breast health equity for Black women. This means increasing early detection and making sure black women receive equitable health care. Sister Give Me Your Hand is one of several initiatives working to improve Breast Cancer Health Equity Across the world. Take charge of your health!
